Friday’s Words Of Wisdom-Balance ⚖
Hello all you happy, smiley, wonderful miracles,
Every Friday, I’ll be sharing a few words of wisdom—something for you to reflect on as you head into the weekend.
This week, I’ve been reading a brilliant book titled “Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life” by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles. The book dives into the importance of discovering your true purpose in life—and the lasting joy and meaning that comes from doing so.
I’ve written a blog post all about Ikigai, which you can access here. It’s worth the read if you’re interested in finding clarity, balance, and direction in your life.
But today, I want to challenge you:
What’s your purpose this weekend?
Even if it’s simply to relax, be intentional about it. Ask yourself:
Do I have a purpose for this weekend?
Does this purpose bring me happiness?
Is it meaningful or just routine?
I know from experience how easy it is to dread mundane tasks like housework, cleaning, mowing the lawn, or washing the car. I’d much rather be out surfing, flying, or spending time with friends.
But life is about balance.
Too much fun, and we take it for granted. Too much work, and we burn out. The key lies in approaching every part of life—both work and play—with purpose and passion.
When you’re living with clear purpose, even the most ordinary tasks can become meaningful. You begin to see everything you do as contributing to the bigger picture of who you are and what you’re here to do. With that mindset, it becomes easier to act with joy, gratitude, and excellence in every area of your life.
So this weekend, try this:
Set a few mindful intentions—both big and small.
And when something feels like a chore, remind yourself it’s a piece of the greater puzzle. Without balance, life loses meaning... and even fun stops being fun.
Let me know how you go! Share your experience by leaving a comment or dropping me a message. We’re stronger when we learn from one another—and no one needs to walk this journey alone.
Remember to spread the word and let your friends and family know of our community and the newsletter. Lets see how many people we can help together to brighten up the dark.
As always, I wish you peace and happiness with every step.
Warmly,
Jay ❤
